Mary Virginia “Jennie” Wade is the only civilian killed during the Battle of Gettysburg in July 1863. It's hard to imagine what it must have been like to have a major battle raging in your hometown.

Jennie was visiting her sister, who had just given birth when she made the fateful decision to make some bread in the kitchen with her mother. A bullet, meant for soldiers engaged in battle, pierced two doors and found its home in Jennie's chest.  She died instantly.

Many paranormal investigators believe that when a sudden and unexpected death occurs, it is more likely to become a haunting than other deaths. We jumped at the opportunity to investigate for ourselves and the property did not disappoint.

Before the investigation, we visited Jennie's grave and left a small offering. We also visited her home and birthplace.

While investigating, we heard what sounded like a child humming in the upstairs rooms. When taking pictures on the staircase, Myron heard heavy breathing in the room next to him. He noted it for the recorders, and it continued even after he called it out.

We've reviewed some footage and captured an unexplained shadow that we are still trying to verify or debunk.

Keep checking back here for updates.
