Gettysburg Orphanage

Obsidian Paranormal travelled to Gettysburg, Pennsylvania to investigate this historic property. Little did we know, one of our co-founders had a familial connection to the orphanage.
After the Battle of Gettysburg, an unknown soldier was found clutching a photograph of his children back home. A national newspaper campaign launched to identify this fallen Union soldier. He was eventually identified as Amos Humiston and is a direct ancestor of co-founder Jillian's nephews.
This orphanage was founded after the Battle of Gettysburg but it took a dark turn under the direction of Rosa J. Carmichael. She was cruel and kept the children chained, drugged, and in harsh, unspeakable conditions.
We approached this dark property with respect, as always, but also with empathy and compassion for the horrors these children were forced to endure.
There is a hole in the wall in the cellar leading to a small room called "The Pit" where children were left for days at a time. Our co-founder, Jillian, crawled inside for an Estes session with fellow co-founder, Myron, just outside asking questions. Jillian describes the experience as one of the most intense experiences she's had as an investigator to date.
